ArchitectWilliam E. MimsCoastal Classic was designed by William E. Mims, the past President of Taliesin West and architect of record on many of the redesigns and construction of Frank Lloyd Wright’s famous houses and office buildings.Bill's most prestigious project is on the island of Maui. The King Kamamaha Golf Clubhouse is at the base of the West Maui Mountains between Maalea Bay and Wailuku. It is based on original Frank Lloyd Wright designs, including the art glass. When you are in Maui it is definitely worth a side trip. Recently Bill has been working in China with a Teliesin graduate, introducing the architecture of Mr. Wright to that great nation. Coastal Classic is the third house that Bill has designed for us. Keeping in the tradition of Frank Lloyd Wright, Bill used a lot of clearstory in Coastal Classic as well as the wide overhanging roof line. |
